Hej
“The Iron Giant” Great family animation with SERIOUS bass,
including strong peaks below 25 Hz. Jump to:
1. “Chase thru the forest” Scene 8 (20:00 into the movie)
2. “Robot Landing” (Train Impact) Scene 10 (25:40)
3. “Green Boom” Scene 27 (1:11:40)
• “Antz” Another good family movie, though not perhaps for small
children. Extremely loud bass above 30 Hz.
“Terror from Above”, Scene 17 (51:48)
• “The Matrix” Modern, violent, science fiction classic with plenty
of shoot-’em-up bass blasts. Here’s some subtle and not so subtle.
1. “Where we are grown”, Scene 12 (42:55)
2. “Landing in fight”, Scene 15 (50:51)
3. “Chopper shootout”, Scene 31 (1:47:15)
• “Das Boot” Arguably one of the best war pictures of all time with
bass approaching 20 Hz. Very loud, very intense.
1. “Depth charges”, Scene 21 (59:30)
2. “Storm surfing”, Scene 25 (1:15:15)
3. “Hitting bottom”, Scene 17 (53:15, Side “B”)
• “Apollo 13” Moving story, with some surprisingly subtle but revealing
bass where it counts.
1. “Lift off”, Scene 13 (35:15)
2. “Coming home”, Scene 53 (2:05:43)
• “Titanic” You love it...or you hate it. Regardless of which side
of the ship you sit, this flick does some serious rumbling for
you:
1. “We can’t leave him” Scene 22 (2:21:50)
2. “Ship Splitting” (2:41:30)
3. “Last Gasp” (2:42:05)
• “Blade” Not one for the kiddies, but loaded with deep bass.
1. “Footstep”, Scene 4 (7:15)
2. “Door blown” Scene 20 (50:05)
• “Aliens” Not just another modern sci-fi horror classic, this one
rocks from intro to final scene.
1. “Ship drop”, Scene 9 (41:20)
2. “Awakenings”, Scene 15 (1:12:52)
• "Apocalypse Now" Making This Vietnam war movie, Francis
Ford Copolla nearly went crazy...imagine what it'll do to your
subwoofer!
1. "Chopper ride" Scene 2 (0:19:47)
2. "ARC LIGHT" Scene 4 (0:26:02)
3. "Grenade launch" Scene 12 (1:27:58)
"Alien v. Predator" The end of a franchise, or rather, two. Lots of great bass, just don't plan to get cozy with the protagonists, or even figure out who they are.
- "Laser Beam Mining", Scene 5 (00:13:40) *
- "Lift Off", Scene 27 (01:27:35) *
"Alien 4" Call it curse of the sequel(s) it has some cool bass, so we'll watch it anyway. "Betty Flies In", Scene 5 (13:09)
"Blade" Not one for the kiddies, but loaded with deep bass.
- "Footstep", Scene 4 (7:15)*
- "Pinned", Scene 4 (9:05)*
- "Invitation?" Scene 17 (41:20)*
- "Door blown" Scene 20 (50:05)*
"Broken Arrow" Another "military out of control" flick, but lot's of deep stuff.
- "Underground explosion", Scene 13 (1:08:50)
"The Day After Tomorrow" More end of days theme, that'll have you signing the Kyoto Accords as a private citizen. Flash frozen movie that was better than expected.
- "Freezing", Scene 12 (0:40:20)*
- "Tidal wave", Scene 14 (0:49:05)*
- "Tanker on the boulevard", Scene 16 (01:02:55)*
"Fight Club" Dark, brutal, shocking. And that's just the bass. Strong below 10Hz. Take your gloves off. Wimpy subs don't even try this.
- "THX Intro" *
- "Mid-air collision" Chapter 8 (0:21:39)*
- "Ass-whippin" Chapter 9 (0:21:59)
- "Calling Marla" Chapter 10 (0:27:29)*
- "Fridge explosion" Chapter 10 (0:27:35)*
- "Car wreck" Chapter 27 (1:40:28)*
- "My eyes are open" Chapter 35 (2:13:00)
- "Final explosions" Chapter 36 (2:15:31)*
"Finding Nemo" The usual stunning Disney animation, with a nice story for the entire family. If you have an SVS and you are playing at theater levels, get ready for some SERIOUS bass.
"Darla taps the tank", Scene 25 (1:18:14)*
"Godzilla" That's right, the big lizard flick does more than just tear up NYC, it brings you some very good deep bass. Even the menu for this one is something of a bass reference!
- Menu, building crumbling*
- "Godzilla enters harbor" Chapter 8 (0:25:23)*
- "Godzilla emerges from subway" Chapter 15 (1:20:30)*
"The Hulk" BTE (Better Than Expected) remake of the old comic book and TV show. Some dynamic bass, and plenty of mayhem ... all combined with a love story!
- "Hulk jumps on a plane", Scene 25 (1:47:43)*
- "Hulk pounds the pavement", Scene 26 (1:51:16)*
"Ice Age" BTE (Better Than Expected) animation flick which, like The Iron Giant below, is remarkable perhaps because it's not from Disney!
- "Squirrel races from a glacier", Scene 1 (0:02:33)*
"The Incredibles" Typical Pixar Studios animation perfection. Adults, kids, anyone can watch this DVD and have a great time. Some well done, heart-stopping bass. Recording levels uneven during previews and movie intro. Sound is right on feature however.
- "Building comes down", Scene 6 (0:22:59)*
- "Syndrome", Scene 13 (0:52:01)*
- "Ouch", Scene 15 (0:58:15)*
- "Sticky balled", Scene 16 (01:02:30)*
"Jumanji" A fresh thrill-a-minute movie you can watch with the family (though not the toddlers!). One of the first state of the art DVD's with bass that still embarrasses some newer fare.
- "Big Cat" Scene 9 (0:29:01)
- "Stampede" Scene 14 (0:59:16)
"Jurassic Park III" After the the second "JP" expectations were low for the third in the series. Better than the second, by far, but still short of the original. Splendid bass however.
- "T-Rex Lunch", Scene 6 (0:26:30)*
- "Dueling dinosaurs", Scene 6 (0:26:49)*
"Titanic" You love it...or you hate it. Regardless of which side of the ship you sit, this flick does some serious rumbling for you:
- "THX Intro"
- "We can?t leave him" Scene 22 (2:21:50)
"U-571" Hollywood's answer to "Das Boot". More underwater explosions that any normal sub(woofer) should be allowed to reproduce.
- Alarm! Chap. 8 0:40:15
- "Torpedo hit" Chap 9 (0:47:48)*
- "They all missed" Chap 9 (0:55:55)*
- "Plane flyover" Chap 12 (1:06:28)*
- "Depth Charge" Chap 15 (1:17:34)*
GO HYGGE

Mvh. Offcourse.
