Once upon a time there was a little old (actually middle-aged), but
wise, analogtapemouse called Rich.
Rich lived in a comfortable burrow down by the reeds where he loved
to listen to music reproduced by an antiquated method called "analog
tape".
In the evening before bedtime he would snuggle under the covers,
pull on his flea-market Greydough headphones, put a 50 year old
tape on his thrift-shop Reevocks tape recorder and get lulled to
sleep.
Rich loved his collection and was able to add not only forgotten
titles and labels from long out-of-business manufacturers who
produced such ilk, but also tapes purloined from other like-minded
analogtapemice that had actually recorded music using some glowing
technology called "vacuum tubes"!
Now Rich did keep up with the advances in science and knew that
there were many new ways and terms coined to reproduce music;
such as "digital, SACD and (horrors) DVD audio?? Although skeptical,
he longed to hear these advances and one day found out that there
was going to be a show nearby in Overthedgecatland called the
Rocky Mountain Audio Fest.
There the latest in reproduction technology could be experienced.
"I'm going" he thought, but to be on the safe side he brought along
another nice, small recorder bought from someplace called Ebaigh
and some of his tapes. "I want to find out how the sound from my old
equipment compares with that from the latest gear".
Her følger en deltagers reportage om mødet med Richs maskine.
