PS1: Meget snart tilbyder vi ægte Digital Room Correction helt GRATIS. Det består af flytbare C++ software moduler/pakker, der bl.a. er udviklet gratis af Linux brugere. Alt software kører også virkelig godt under Windows XP. Desværre er DRC kompliceret og ikke brugervenlig, så dette er vi i gang med at rydde op i, således alle kan finde ud af at bruge DRC helt og aldeles GRATIS. DRC kører nu i vores LAB på PC med Windows XP og resultatet er helt forrygende (specielt til prisen :-). Princippet er ens med de principper du finder i produkter fra bl.a. TacT og DEQX, dvs. man måler højttalerens impuls respons, hvorefter en "korrekt" impulse respons beregnes ud fra en givet target kurve. Den "korrekte" impuls respons bruges i run-time af en convolver plug-in, der således tilretter det digitale lydsignal (en stream fra media playeren) under afspilning.
Det virker måske som en kompliceret opgave, men det kan vi jo alle være ligeglade med, når det er simpelt at betjene.

Install truly Digital Room Correction software on your PC for FREE and you will be surpriced about the sound improvement, especially the HUGE bass improvement with DRC! The new eAR Master™ will have a microphone input to measure the impulse response of the loudspeakers in the listening room. When using the FREE and truly Digital Room Correction software you really need a LOT of power to your speakers - fortunately we have made it inexpensive. The complex Digital Room Correction software is running in our lab and is working well. How to do? You need two main software programs. One to measure and calculate the correct impulse response of your room and another main software program to CD play-back with convolver plug-in. "Black talk"? Okay, here is how to do:
1) Measure the impulse response of your room using your PC, eAR Master and a microphone.
2) In step 2 you should do nothing if you want to use the recommended default target curve (possible to edit for advanced users).
3) Run the DRC algorithm. It is a software program, that will calculate the corrected impulse response of your room using a complex FIR filter. The output is a file. Before going to step 4 you may verify the file by measuring again.
4) Now you are ready to go and use the corrected impulse response file. Load the corrected impulse response file into a real-time convolver plug-in. The Finite Impulse Response algorithm inside the convolver insures the sound, which is reproduced in the measured listening position, is equal to your target.
It may sound to be complex, but not when you understand it. Actually it is pretty "easy" to perform truly Digital Room Correction. The complex part is the FIR filter, today it is free-ware on the Internet. Have some patience, we will tell you how to do. The media player to be used with the real-time convolver supports several music file formats and can play CD's directly from your PC's DVD-drive, while using the digital room correction algorithm (in run-time it is actually "just" a complex convolver algorithm, which correct the streams to fulfil the target curve - you may say the digital room correction is done before you do play-back).
