Is your TV HD-ready?
In January this year the European ICT Association announced an HD ready logo to be featured on all TVs and, potentially, other HD compatible devices in the future. An HD-ready device must meet a number of criteria based on the European Broadcasting Union’s decision to opt for 720p as the European Standard. But anyone wanting to explore the higher-spec HD video formats will need to look beyond the logo on point-of-sale displays. Instead, you’ll need to delve into the model specifications in some depth. For example:

Basic HD TV (minimum for an HD-ready logo)
(1) Widescreen format with a screen ratio of 16:9
(2) Capable of displaying 720 lines (1280x720) progressively scanned
(3) Have a single DVI or HDMI input with HDCP copy protection

Medium HD TV (minimum for 1080i HD)
(1) Widescreen format with a screen ratio of 16:9
(2) Capable of displaying 1080 lines (1920x1080) from an interlaced video signal
(3) Have multiple DVI/HDMI inputs with HDCP copy protection

Ideal HD TV (Digital Home dream TV)
(1) Widescreen format with a screen ratio of 16:9
(2) Capable of displaying 1080 lines progressively scanned
(3) A built-in 1080-line scalar to enhance 720p and SD TV
(4) Multiple DVI/HDMI inputs with HDCP
(5) An on-board PVR for recording HD content

Det er da en mangelfuld beskrivelse af HD Ready standarden.
Du mangler, at component tilslutning ligeledes er et minimumskrav, samt at Tv'et skal kunne modtage både 720P og 1080i ved både 50 og 60 Hz, på både component og HDMI/DVI indgangene.

Derudover graddeler EICTA heller ikke HD Ready. Det er en minimumsstandard.
