Dette var hvad Peter Lyngdorf skrev til mig da jeg spurgte ham om der var nogle test på nettet af den nye MK3.
Jeg har lige klippet et citat fra en af mine tyske kunder :
Dear Peter,
after three days of listening, I find the sonic quality of the upgrade really overwhelming. I guess when you wrote "the upgrade is really audible, even with CD format" you were practising Danish understatement. My preliminary summary would be: With the Mk III and a good source like the TEAC V50, CD's sound like SACD's.
Last week, I had the opportunity to listen to the Linn Klimax chain with the Unidisk 1.1 as a source and the 242 loudspeakers for playback. This really is an terrific chain but I find, since the upgrade, they have a hard time to compete with the "new" Millennium, reproduced via HGP Lyra Sonova. Before the upgrade, I probably would have said: Advantage to Linn. But now, judging not from an objective comparison but just from my personal degree of satisfaction, I would see the Millennium ahead.
A few things I still wanted to ask you:
1. The sample rate for both DVD-A's (via direct digital input) and SACD's (via Behrens SRC 2496 converter) is indicated in the display as 48,0.Shouldn't it be 96 in both cases? Is there a "misunderstanding" between the devices?
2. Since the upgrade, the remote control of my TEAC multiplayer also decreases the output level of the TacT: No matter which button I push the loudness goes down. This isn't really a problem but rather an inconvenience- nevertheless: Is there anything that can be done about it?
3. Coming back to your new A/D-converter: When do you plan to launch it?
Will it be recognized as 192 kHz?
Once again, congratulations to the upgrade! In my evaluation, you made it to the absolute top league of amplifiers: world class! Hope you'll be as successful in marketing it as in developing it.
Kind regards /
Freundliche Grüße
