I hope you don't mind because I'm writing in english in danish forum. The only reason for that is that I have SA speakers that are rare in other parts of the world, but here in Denmark these speakers are quite common so I suppose you know them well. I have SA1250, Unison Research Unico SE, NAD C521BEE and I'm not satisfied with the sound. There is lack of soundstage, you can hear the sound from left and right speaker,not the whole sound picture blended together. Sound is quite dull and not interesting for listening. I have Nordost interconnects and Audioquest speaker cables, room is 4x4m. Should I get a transistor amp not a hybrid? Should I change the speakers? How much is the difference in higher models SA1270, SA1280 are the a lot better?Does amp suck....something is not good. Should I change CD player?

I would be very happy if you could give me some good advices, because nobody else here knows these speakers than you denmark guys do.

Check the phase.. sounds like you've got a problem there.. I've had these speakers five or six times, and they play wonderfull.. "Luv'em".. Neither the 1270 or the 1280 is "way better".. The 1280 Mk-II is might a little better, but not much.. I'm not even sure they are better..

Have you tried another placement of the speakers? SA speakers can be very hard to place correctly.

I have tried changing the position of speakers. OK some things sound ok but when I went to my colegue to hear his system - another dimension. HI amplifier is half cheaper than mine - Arcam, CD player is NAD 512 and speakers are ugly ESS(here is the link http://www.essspeakers.com/amt_1d.htm )

Things played on guitar really sounded real, and the stage was....uf. OK electronic music sounds better in my system and Celine dion and similar, but I miss that the sound is pleasant no matter of the CD

I hope you know what I would like to hear. I should probably try with other amplifier.

I personally dont like Primare, so I dont think its a good match

System Audio is the danish distributor of Primare, maybe thats the reason..

And I absolutly disagree! Primare and SystemAudio plays excellent together. I've had that combination, and it was really sounding awesome! Perfect match, if you'de like the music to be CORRECT, with a very slight hint of warmth.

I have en NAD 216 THX power ampfilter!!! I have a per of SA1230.... I think they play wonderful!!! You may have to use a lot of time to instal them perfektly!!! But it`s then it works!!! And you also have to remeber that some thins just dont do vary good together!!! I think NAD and SA is a wonderful match
